Markfed, Punjab cooperative group to re-strategise marketing and financial approach

Chandigarh, Feb 22 (KNN) The Punjab State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (Markfed) is planning to put in place new marketing and financial strategies to increase revenue and organisational effectiveness.

It will soon be appointing a program management agency (PMA) for suggesting the best marketing strategies and financial management after detailed scrutiny of current mechanisms and implementing the same at state and district level.

The PMA will study the current financial structure of the corporation and benchmark the same with best firms in terms of revenue achieved on similar scale of production, best industry practices on expenditure incurred on procurement of raw material, plant operations-manufacturing of finished products, salary expenditure, marketing expenses, supply chain management etc. and how best the financials can be restructured to optimize the usage of available resources.

The consultancy team will consist of team leader, food and agriculture specialist, marketing expert and finance expert.

In this context, Markfet has invited bids from experienced firms for consulting/advisory services.

Markfed has emerged as a very solid and stable organization committed to the service of the farmer community in Punjab.

It has achieved meteoritic volumes and has grown to become the largest marketing co-operative in Asia with an annual business turnover of over Rs 40 crore with nearly 1824 employees. (KNN/ST)
