Mega handloom cluster soon to be set up in Varanasi

New Delhi, Nov 2 (KNN)  The Development Commissioner for Handlooms will soon open a marketing supporting centre in the Varanasi mega handloom cluster for integrated and holistic development in the area.

Ministry of Textile is implementing the Comprehensive Handloom Cluster Development Scheme (CHCDS), in Varanasi, establishing various projects like value addition centre and common facility centre. Supply of yarn, distribution of handloom parts and credit support are under implementation.

In this regard, the government is seeking partnership from different agencies for the marketing development.

Development Commissioner for Handlooms implemented various scheme, address the needs of weavers which are at the bottom of the economic hierarchy. (KNN/ST)
