MoSMSME Giriraj Singh launches Khadi AC Jacket with Climate Control Buttons

Patna, Mar 8 (KNN) Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoSMSME) Giriraj Singh launched a special jacket called as ‘Khadi AC Jacket’ in his constituency Khanwan in Nawada, Bihar.

The jacket keeps one cool anytime as the self-cooling linen jacket offers its wearer two options - the red button for heat and the green button to dial it down.

The difference could be 20 degrees, say those involved in developing and designing the jackets.

“It keeps you cool anytime, anywhere. That is not just a catchy boast,” Singh said.

He said it is a matter of immense pride and joy for women spinners of Khanwan (Nawada) when they witnessed the launch of Khadi AC JACKET.

"It is a blend of cotton from Khanwa and technology," the minister said to reporters.

The jacket is, reportedly, fitted with cold and hot air fans, which are battery operated. An MIT graduate reportedly helped devise this "climate gear" technology. Students of the National Institute of Fashion Technology or NIFT helped come up with the design of the wear-your-own-AC.

Singh said the jacket will be a boon for soldiers at the frontlines. “Imagine its benefits in Siachen, the world's highest battlefield where temperatures can drop to 50 degrees below zero.”

The "AC jacket" will debut in the market soon with the tentative price ranging from Rs. 18,000 for a half jacket to Rs. 25,000 for a full-sleeved one.

Singh also said that Nawada is writing new success story from solar powered khadi to climate control jacket to mushroom farming. “We & bank r supporting the cause.”
