MSMC allocates 2.93 lakh metric tonnes of coal to MSMEs of Maharashtra through m-junction e-distribution platform

New Delhi, May 15 (KNN) m-junction services limited, a JV between Steel Authority of India and Tata Steel has successfully distributed 2.93 lakh metric tonnes of coal to MSMEs of Maharashtra with its fully automated and a comprehensive coal e-distribution platform for Maharashtra State Mining Corporation (MSMC).

Through this platform, MSMC has been able to allocate 2.93 lakh tonnes of coal, out of which the MSMEs have already lifted coal worth of around INR 4800 lacs till March’18.

To make more coal available for the small, medium and other sectors the Maharashtra Government appointed MSMC as the state nominated agency (SNA) for coal distribution to MSMEs for the state.

Addressing the challenges of MSMEs in coal distribution process, the state nominated agency MSMC decided to replace offline practices with system based automated solutions to make the system more transparent and consumer friendly.

For this, MSMC entrusted the responsibility of digitizing coal distribution in the state to mjunction services limited.

Launched in Jan, 2017, mjunction e-distribution platform made the whole process of distribution transparent and fair.

Vinaya Varma, CEO of mjunction, said, “The web-enabled e-distribution platform makes coal available online in a fair manner. The digitization of the coal distribution process will go a long way in empowering the MSMEs in realizing their full potential.”

Further, he added that with this platform MSMEs can provide stimulus to country’s economic growth and GDP figures.

Out of the total coal offered by Coal India through the SNA route to Maharashtra since Jan’17, 93 per cent have been booked by various MSMEs through the coal e-distribution platform of MSMC.

MSMC MD, Dr. Nirupama Dange said, “The digitization of coal distribution has ushered in a new age of transparency and accountability.”

“The coal e-distribution system has helped MSMC to meet the objectives of the various stakeholders”, she added.

With this e-distribution platform, MSMEs across Maharashtra are now able to book their coal requirements online and get access to the status of their transactions on a real time basis through the e-distribution system.

Consumers are now able to place their requirement of preferred coal online, and the system ensures that coal is allocated to the consumers based on a pre-defined algorithm, resulting in fair and equal opportunities to all.

mjunction has pioneered e-distribution of coal in India, starting with West Bengal Mineral Development and Trading Corporation Ltd.,a West Bengal Government undertaking. Recently mjunction has also won the mandate from Bihar State Mining Corporation for e-distribution of coal to MSMEs of Bihar.
