MSME-DI conducts ZED certification awareness program for MSMEs in Coimbatore

New Delhi, Oct 5 (KNN) In a bid to raise awareness among the Micro, Small and  Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) if the region with regard to the zero effect zero effect scheme of the ministry, the MSME-Development institute recently organized an awareness program through its branch office in Coimbatore.

Sathesh Kumar, Deputy Director of the Branch MSME-DI in a press interview said that it is important for the MSMEs to work under a mechanism wherein products had no defects and at the same time it is to maintain a healthy balance on the environment as well by minimizing the ecological effects.

He further informed that the scheme is being carried out with the larger motive of achieving high quality manufacturing in the country at a time when India is progressing as a manufacturing hub.

Citing the provisions in the ZED scheme, Kumar said that the MSME ministry has outlined a 481 crore budget for the MSMEs ZED certification.

The awareness program by the MSME-DI was organized in association with Salem District Small Scale and Industry Industries association.

Key officials from the MSME-Di and MSME entrepreneurs of the region participated in the event.
