MSME exporters in J&K record 54% growth in FY22

New Delhi, Aug 26 (KNN) Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) exporters in Jammu and Kashmir registered a growth of 54 per cent in FY21-22, said Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday at the inauguration of the 8th India International MSME Start-up Expo and Summit in New Delhi.

He said that the J&K government is focusing on the rejuvenation of the traditional Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with greater access to credit and market linkage.

Emphasising on its growing horticulture markets he said, “Our strengths in natural resources, skilled workforce and best in class incentives through new Industrial development scheme are well known which makes J&K an ideal MSME destination.”

Crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing a revolution in the MSME sector, he said MSMEs had undergone a rapid change in the last 8 years.

“New strength, resilience and global competitiveness of MSMEs will make India a preferred manufacturing destination for the world,” he said.

Sinha said that industries in J&K are exuding confidence owing to the industry-centric policies, provisions of financial assistance, handholding to new and existing enterprises which have encouraged MSMEs.

“After August 2019, J&K's economy had been living up to its expectation,” he added.

The expo will conclude on August 27 and it provides a much-needed platform for SMEs, startups, trade, industry, and service providers to explore new opportunities, and buyers-sellers meet and knowledge sharing about various state and central government schemes.  (KNN Bureau)
