MSME Ministry to conduct two intl study missions to ensure quality enhancement

New Delhi, Mar 17 (KNN) The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) has decided to conduct two International Study Missions to ensure better implementation of Quality Management Standards/Quality Technology Tools scheme.

The study, being conducted under the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme of the Government, is being done in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry and Consultancy Development Corporation during this year as well as in the next financial year.

As many as 100 Awareness Campaigns will be organised in the States across the Country through MSME-DIs and other Expert Organisations in the next financial year.

Also, four Metro Level Workshops at Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata and one National Level Workshop at Delhi will be organised in the next financial year.

R Narayanan, Head, CII-Avantha Centre for Competitiveness for SMEs, told KNN, “The Government has various schemes for enhancing the competitiveness of the MSME sector for propagating Quality Management Systems/ Quality Technology Tools (QMS/QTT) among SMEs.”

“This year one International Study Mission is also being planned to Germany. The broad purpose is to expose eligible MSMEs to visit benchmark companies and help the delegates understand how QMS/QTT has been adopted by industries in the developed countries and how can they apply similar techniques in their businesses to upscale its competitiveness,” he said.
