MSME office holds awareness program for apparel industries in Ludhiana
New Delhi, Jan 9 (KNN) In a bid to facilitate information among the apparel Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) regarding various schemes for the sector, the Cluster Development Authority recently held an awareness program in Ludhiana.
The main focus of the awareness session was to help the MSMEs take advantage of the government schemes and programs.
The awareness session comes as a part of the ongoing Apparel Cluster Development Program of the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).
Speaking at the occasion, SS Bedi, Cluster Development Manager of the Ludhiana Apparel Cluster said that the apparel MSMEs have huge potential to contribute towards the economy.
Also with dedicated schemes available for the sector, the apparel sector is likely to grow further.
Commenting on the significance of the Cluster Development Program, Bedi said that the ongoing program is a good initiative towards helping the apparel sector.
Highlighting the developments, Bedi said that despite fair presence of apparel MSMEs in the region, there wasn’t any Common Facility Centre (CFC) in the area so far.
With the program in its implementation phase, things are likely to pick up soon, he added. (KNN/ DA)
