MSME Secretary raises concern over slow movement of TCSP project

New Delhi, May 18 (KNN) MSME Ministry is making all efforts to ensure that Technology Centre Systems Programme (TCSP) meets it's deadline.

In this regard, KK Jalan, Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) today reviewed the progress of TCSP with senior officials and expressed concern on slow movement of World Bank aided project.

In a Facebook post, MSME Ministry wrote that Jalan expressed concern on slow movement of WB aided project.

However, the Government is aiming to complete the work of all MSME technology centres by 2017.

The main objectives of the TCSP are making MSMEs globally competitive through access to advanced manufacturing technologies; Skilling manpower by offering opportunities for technical skill development to the youth; and providing technical and business advisory support to MSME entrepreneurs.

TCSP is being implemented at a project cost of Rs. 2200 crore including World Bank Loan of USD 200 million to set up 15 new Technology Centres (autonomous bodies) across the country with Upgradation of existing Technology Centres. (KNN Bureau)
