Mysuru to host congress on science for indigenous development in India

New Delhi, Nov 5 (KNN) The Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) is organising the science congress with the theme 'Science & Technology for indigenous development in India' from January 3 to 7, 2016 in Mysuru

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 103rd edition of the event where Nobel laureates and eminent scientists and more than 15,000 delegates from India and abroad are participating.

“Science and technology not only help in Making in India/Making for India but there is a need to ‘Made in India’. Till today the development in India is based upon purchased technology,” said a release by ISCA.

There is an urgent need to give emphasis on technique and technology so that our technology is generated indigenously through the help to transform indigenous India as well as transforming global technology for ‘Made in India, it said.

The focal theme of this session is very relevant with the present scenario of the country, when our Prime Minister has rightfully raised the slogan of ‘Make in India’, said ISCA General President, Ashok Kumar Saxena.

The congress will be sectional sessions and symposia on various science topics such as agriculture and forestry; animal veterinary and fishery; anthropological and behaviour; chemical; environment; earth system, engineering; information and communication technology; mathematical; new biology, physical and medical.

The congress also features plenary sessions and public talk and over 500 eminent scientists and experts will address the session. (KNN Bureau)
