NABARD to support agritech startups to boost farm productivity

Thiruvananthapuram, July 8 (KNN) The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has offered its support to build a linkage between agritech startups and farmers, so that the innovative products and solutions developed by the startups play a vital role in agricultural development.

During a virtual exhibition of agritech products organised by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), NABARD officials and startups discussed how to make use of affordable technologies developed to address various issues relating to the farm sector, including boosting productivity.

The discussion also focused on how grants could be arranged through NABARD to take the initiatives forward.

Around 10 agritech startups participated in the expo.Virtual stalls were setup by the startups to display their products and solutions developed for farming-specific problems.

Representatives of Agricultural University, Kerala University of fisheries and ocean studies were also present at the event.

A webinar on "Market Access in Australia and the Far East" was also held during the virtual event.  (KNN Bureau)
