National awards, seminar on challenges and opportunities in the food processing sector

New Delhi Nov 2 (KNN) The All India Food Processors’ Association (AIFPA) is organising its award function along with annual conference and national seminar on ‘A Decade of Progress, Challenges and Opportunities in the Food Processing Sector- Way Forward’ on December 17 at India International Centre, New Delhi.

The purpose of the event is to highlight the progress, opportunities and challenges in the food processing sector during the last decade and the - way forward to further accelerate the development and growth of this sector.

Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Harsimrat Kaur Badal will give away the awards and scholarships and inaugurate the seminar.

The awards and scholarships which consist of four gold medals, eight silver plates, cash prices along with citations to personalities who have contributed immensely to  the development of food processing industries.

The national seminar is supported by Ministry of Food Processing Industries and the event as such is encouraged by members of the association, media and many affiliated food associations.

Experts and scientists from the country and abroad will share their views and present papers and case studies on the theme of the seminar for the benefit of food industries and other stakeholders so as to help them in overcoming obstacles and help them steer growth of the food processing industries in the country.

About 150 delegates from the food processing industries, research institutions, experts, standards bodies and certifying agencies will attend the seminar.

The sub-topics to be discussed in the seminar will cover Progress in the Food  Processing Sectors so far; Food Production, Processing & Technologies - The Indian Scenario;

Constraints and Factors Affecting Production and Distribution of Processed Foods in India; SWOT Analysis of Agro-Processing Industry and Infrastructure in India; Is India’s Food Processing Industry on the Path of High Growth; Problems of Food  Processing Industry in India, Skills Development; Training and Employment Opportunities for FPI; Food Safety;

Food Quality Standards and Food Safety and Management Systems for the food processing sector and Availability of processable qualities of RMs for FPI. (KNN Bureau)
