National Handicraft exhibition underway in Ekamra Haat, Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, June 21 (KNN) A national level Handicraft exhibition organised by the Odisha State Co-operative Handicrafts Corporation Ltd is underway in Bhubaneswar.

The craft Bazar will be held at Ekamra Haat from June 20-29.

The event was inaugurated by Smt Shubha Sarma, Commissioner- Cum- Secretary, HT&H Dept.

The event is being sponsored by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India and Co-Sponsored by Govt. of Odisha.

The exhibition aims to provide marketing platform for the artisans to showcase the richness and varieties of Handicrafts and Handloom items of their respective states.

Handicraft artisans from Odisha, Bihar, Bengal and Jharkhand are participating in the exhibition.

Handicrafts items such as Stone Carving, Wood Carving, Pattachitra, Tassar Painting, Silver Filigree, Applique, Terracotta, Dhokra Casting, Golden Grass, Brass and Bell Metal, Paddy Craft and many more are on display at the Bazaar.

With participation of 100 artisans, the event is expected to draw 1, 00, 000 visitors and customers. It is expected to generate a business of 1 crore for the artisans.  (KNN Bureau)
