National Solar Conclave organised on 2nd day of Solar & E-vehicle expo 2020

Lucknow, Feb 17 (KNN) During the Second day of India Solar & E-Vehicle Expo-2020 on February 15, a National Solar Conclave was also organised.

In an effort to keep the environment cleaner in the future and the growing demand for e-vehicles, a Solar & E-vehicle expo 2020 took place from February 14th to 16th, 2020.

The Chief Guest for the National Conclave was Anil Kumar, Secretary UPNEDA and Guest of Honour was O.P. Verma, Zonal Manager, UCO Bank.

In his inaugural address Secretary UPNEDA, Anil Kumar said that UPNEDA is making all-out efforts to achieve the target of setting up of 10700 Megawatt Solar Power Plants by 2022. In this process, few hurdles were noticed on which UPNEDA & Govt. of U.P. is working actively. Disallowing net metering in Industrial & commercial establishments is one such hurdle & UPNEDA as a promoter of Solar Energy wishes to get this facility restored. Banks have a very important role in promoting Solar Energy, however, they are not supporting the Industry to the extent it is desired.  We are discussing this issue with the banks.

He further added that few issues were related to the Solar policy announced in 2017 on which UPNEDA has been reviewing the situation from time to time. On February 15, Solar Policy of U.P. is the best in the Country. State Govt. has allowed foreign direct investment for setting up Solar Power Plants in U.P.

As a result three companies from France have expressed their interest to invest in Solar Power Plants in U.P. UPNEDA is in consultation with these companies & we hope that they will set up their plants soon. For doubling the income of Farmers a target of 75 Megawatt Solar Energy Projects has been set under KUSUM Scheme for which the bidding process will start soon. he said.

National President IIA Pankaj Kumar during the inaugural function said that IIA have recognised the potential of Solar Energy & E-Vehicle Sector as such we are aware that Industry in this sector will need the Consultancy, Training & Testing facilities in times to come Keeping this need in view, IIA will setup a Solar & E –Vehicle Sector Facilitation Centre at its head office in Lucknow. People are quite aware of the Solar Energy applications as of now however, there is a need to focus on the quality & maintenance of Solar Energy Plants as on date.

Guest of Honour O.P. Verma, Zonal Manager, UCO Bank in his address said that they will work on special financial schemes for the Solar & E-Vehicle Industry. This will help the industry as well as the activity of UCO Bank.

Convener of National Solar Conclave & Chief Moderator Prof. Usha Bajpai said that there is an urgent need for setting up a Centre of Excellence in U.P. She urged National President IIA to take initiative for setting up such Centre under the banner of IIA.

Sr. Research Scientist from National Institute of Solar Energy Yogesh Kumar made a presentation on Operation & Maintenance of Solar Power Plant. Anil Kumar Bareja from Delhi delivered his a presentation on Opportunities and challenges in Solar Industries in India as well as future of Solar Power Plant & Equipment mfg in India. Renewal Energy & Energy Management Consultant Dr. Suresh Chand Bajpai made an impressive presentation on quality, standardization and testing of various components/parts of Solar Power Plants from user point of view.

Sr. Project Manager, UPNEDA V.K. Tiwari told about the Solar Energy Policy 2017 of U.P. Tariq Hasan Naqvi Chairman IIA Solar Energy Committee welcomed the guests & the delegates and General Secretary IIA Manmohan Agarwal presented vote of thanks & Momentos to the Guests & the delegates during the inaugural function.
