National Sugar Institute to start courses in sugar technologies

New Delhi, Jun 6 (KNN) To equip the sugar and distillery industry with technical manpower, the National Sugar Institute at Kanpur has started various training courses for students.

“National Sugar Institute, a premier institute under the Ministry of consumer affairs, food and public distribution at Kanpur has started various training courses to provide technical manpower for sugar and distillery industry,” said an official statement today. 

The courses started include associate ship in sugar technology, engineering, and diploma in industrial fermentation and alcohol technology.

In addition, short term training courses like sugar engineering certificate course, pre-harvest cane maturity survey etc. have also been introduced.

The institution provides technical education and training in research in all branches of sugar chemistry, technology, engineering and allied fields.

The research undertaken by the institute includes problems pertaining to sugarcane chemistry and sugar engineering in factories and utilization of by-products of the industry.

The institute has trained more than 5,000 national and international candidates so far. (KNN)
