New portal for cement manufacturers to upload data

New Delhi, Feb 19 (KNN) Enabling on-line collection of data regarding production, dispatch, export, import etc of cement across the country, Commerce Ministry has launched a Cement Information System (CIS) Portal which can be used by the cement manufacturers in India to upload data on the central server of the Department.
“The portal is first of its kind in India which would enable cement manufactures in India to upload data on the central server of the Department. The cement producers have been provided USER ID and PASSWORD for this purpose,” said an official statement yesterday.
This will facilitate the Government in analysing the sector for appropriate policy measures, the statement added.
While inaugurating the portal, E M S Natchiappan stated that the cement sector plays an important role in the Indian economy and suitable interventions through policy are required for higher growth.
The portal will help in gathering data in real time. The real time data collection will be better utilized for answering the questions in Parliament apart from its value in policy making process. (KNN/SD)
