New tariff for palmolein, brass scrap, poppy seeds, areca nuts, gold and silver

New Delhi, Jul 16 (KNN)  The Central Board of Excise and Customs has made changes to the tariff value of various products such as RBD Palmolein, all grades of brass scrap, poppy seems, areca nuts as well as gold and silver.
 
“In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Excise and Customs, being satisfied that it is necessary and expedient so to do, hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated the 3rd August, 2001, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section-3, Sub-section (ii), vide number S. O. 748 (E), dated the 3rd August, 2001..,” said an official notification.
 
As per the notification, crude palm oil will now cost USD 834 per metric tonne, refined, bleached and deodorized (RBD) Palm oil USD 867 per metric tonne, other palm oil USD 851 per metric tonne, crude palmolein USD 876 per metric tonne, RBD palmolein USD 879 per metric tonne, crude soyabean oil USD 975 per metric tonne, all grades of brass scrap USD 3759 per metric tonne and poppy seeds USD 4395 per metric tonne.
 
Changes in tariff for silver and gold have also been notified.  For any form of gold the tariff will now be USD 416 per 10 grams and any form of silver USD 638 per kilogram.
 
As for Areca nuts, cost tariff will now be USD 1613 per metric tonne.  (KNN)
