NHPC seeks consultants for 50 MW wind power project

New Delhi, May 2 (KNN) National Hydroelectric Power Corporation(NHPC)  in Faridabad has sought consultancy services for a 50 MW wind power project to be set up anywhere in the country.

The project would help the government meet its target of achieving 27,000 MW of wind power energy from 18,000 MW during the next two years.
NHPC has invited bids from consultants with many years of experience in similar wind power projects.

“The consultants should have experience of having successfully provided consultancy services for wind power projects during the last seven years or should have provided consultancy for at least one such 40 MW, two 25 MW or three 15 MW projects,”  said NHPC.  

The consultants should also have a working capital of Rs 6 lakhs and ought to have generated profit in three out of the preceding five years.  

India has the fifth largest installed wind power capacity in the world. The leading wind power states are Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Rajasthan.  

Incorporated in 1975 NHPC Limited, formerly known as National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd is a government of India enterprise with an objective to plan, promote and organise an integrated and efficient development of hydroelectric power in all aspects.  

Later on NHPC expanded its objects to include development of power in all its aspects through conventional and non-conventional sources in India and abroad.  It is among the top ten companies in the country in terms of investment.  

During the financial year 2010-2011, NHPC Power Stations achieved the highest ever generation of 18604 MU. (KNN)
