NIELIT to set up electronic hardware labs at 50 locations in India

Chandigarh, Nov 6 (KNN) The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) seeks to expand its electronic hardware laboratories across 50 locations in India to give a boost to R&D.

The centre, an autonomous scientific  society under the administrative control of Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) is willing to buy the latest electronic equipment, hardware items, home appliances and consumables for 50 NCPUL’s centres spread across India.

In this context, NIELIT seeks bidders for supply, installation and maintenance of equipment for setting up the laboratories and making them operational.

NIELIT was set up to carry out Human Resource Development and related activities in the area of Information, Electronics and Communications Technology (IECT).

NIELIT is engaged both in formal and non-formal education in the area of IECT besides development of industry oriented quality education and training programmes in the state-of-the-art areas.

NIELIT has endeavoured to establish standards to be the country’s premier institution for Examination and Certification in the field of IECT.   It is also one of the National Examination Bodies, which accredits institutes/organizations for conducting courses in IT in the non-formal sector.

At present, NIELIT has twenty six (26) offices located at Agartala, Aizawl, Ajmer, Aurangabad, Calicut, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gangtok, Gorakhpur, Guwahati / Tezpur, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima / Chuchuyimlang, Kolkata, Lucknow, Manipur / Churachandpur, Mizoram / Lunglei, Patna, Shimla, Shillong and Srinagar/Jammu.

With its headquarters in the national capital, it is well networked throughout India with the presence of about 800 institutes. (KNN/SD)
