NIFT Kangra to host its first national handicraft meet on Aug 5

Dharamshala, July 28 (KNN) The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kangra is all set to host its first-ever national conference on Indian handloom and handicraft on August 5-6.

NIFT, through this conference aims to provide academics, craftsperson’s, industry practitioners and research scholars a common platform to deliberate and discuss the way forward for the Indian craft and heritage. The conference will be held at the institute’s campus.

The chief guest for the event will be Shantmanu, DG, NIFT, and Aakash Dewangan, Director, NIFT, Kangra.

Laila Tyabji, Sunita Shankar, Pankaja Sethi and Priya Krishnamoorty, Sanchit Govil of Lal10 crafts are among those who will participate in the conference.

The Handicraft conference is being conducted to celebrate NIFT’s 14th founding day and  the National Handloom Day.  (KNN Bureau)
