NIFT modernising its infrastructure

New Delhi, Dec 31 (KNN)  The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is improving and building its facilities in some of its branches in the country as an initiative to modernise its operations.

The Srinagar branch NIFT is refurbishing its premises by procuring equipment for photography, swing-machine and finishing device and multimedia devices.

Meanwhile, the Bhopal NIFT is also renovating its infrastructure by procuring items for its textiles design laboratories.

In this context, the institute is inviting bids from the reputed manufacturers and suppliers of the required items to be service providers.

The prime objective of NIFT which works under the administrative control of Ministry of Textiles is to spawn a critical mass of highly competent technical professionals in the area of fashion design, technology and management capable of providing leadership to the Indian fashion industry, to enable it to compete better in the global economy.


The textile design programme of the institute focuses on value addition that can make all the difference in transforming a fashion business into an economically viable and profitably proposition.  (KNN/ST)
