NIFTEM to charge Rs 10,500 for 3 day training for entrepreneurs

Chandigarh, Jan 25 (KNN) The apex institute for food science technology and management, NIFTEM, is charging fee of Rs 10,000- 12,000 for a three day short term training programme on Laboratory Quality Management System and Internal Audit as per international standards for upcoming entrepreneurs wanting to engage in the food processing industry .

The training program is aimed at laboratory personnel working at all levels within the testing and calibration laboratories.

The event will be held from February 12-14 at Sonepat. 

National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) is a newly established public institution for research, education and catering the need of various stakeholders like - entrepreneurs, food processing industry, exporters, policy makers and government policy. 

It is the brainchild of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI).

The international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 “General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories” is being used across the world for implementing Quality Management Systems in testing and calibration laboratories, irrespective of the area or type of testing or calibration, and also by Accreditation Bodies worldwide for assessing management system and technical competence of laboratories and for granting accreditation.

Compliance to this standards helps in harmonizing the management systems and practices followed by laboratories around the world and facilitates equivalence and acceptance of test results or calibration data.

A series of programs will be conducted to help upgrade laboratories to the applicable requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 for quality management systems in laboratories.

This program will be highly useful for the Quality Managers who are responsible for implementation and maintaining compliance to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 in their laboratories.  It will also be useful for top management executives who are responsible for managing testing and calibration laboratories and who take decisions in matters related to laboratories.

It will be especially beneficial to those working in sectors such as Chemical, Microbiological, Food, Pharmaceuticals, Environmental, AYUSH laboratories. (KNN/SD)
