New Delhi, Jan 4 (KNN) In a move to help exporters, government has done away with a system under which they were required to submit registration certificates in physical form even under electronic filing.

Such a requirement was made for export of commodities such as cotton and cotton yarn, where an exporter has to obtain RCs for their shipment.

“There shall be no requirement of submitting any document in electronic filing for obtaining Registration Certificates (RC),” Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification.

It said that with immediate effect, the requirement of submission of hard copies of the documents like printout of online application, Letter of Credit [L/C] or Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate [FIRC] or proof of Advance Payment, as applicable and export contract is “dispensed with”.

“There shall be no other change in either the policy or conditions for export of cotton, cotton yarn, non-basmati rice, wheat and sugar notified earlier through respective notifications, public notices, policy circulars etc,” the notification added.  (KNN Bureau)
