Mumbai, July 4 (KNN) N. S. Vishwanathan took over as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India today. Vishwanathan was Executive Director of the Reserve Bank before being elevated to the post of Deputy Governor.

The Government of India, on June 29, 2016 has appointed him as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, for a period of three years from the date of his taking over charge of the post on or after July 4, 2016 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

After NS Vishwanathan took over as the Deputy Governor of RBI, the apex bank also briefed about the portfolios of Deputy Governors from July 4. (KNN Bureau)
