NSDC, CII & GIZ together launch Skill Connect Road Show to promote industry participation in Apprenticeship program
New Delhi, Aug 20 (KNN) Aiming to enhance awareness and participation of industry in the skill development agenda with a special focus on Apprenticeship Program (NAPS), National Sill Development Corporation (NSDC) in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) has launched roadshow ‘Skill Connect’ in New Delhi.
It was launched by Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Minister Development & Entrepreneurship.
The first interactive session workshop under Skill Connect Road Show was held in Faridabad on August 16 and second in Haridwar on August 17.
The event marked the successful beginning of the tour, which will be held across more than 25 locations across India to promote industry participation in Apprenticeship Program.
The organizations addressed the issue of rising skill gap and lack of skilled manpower during the workshop.
NSDC appealed the associations to avail the benefits of the Apprenticeship Program launched to conform to “Skill India” mission of the Government of India.
By means of interactive session, the participants were invited to share, discuss and present the challenges faced by them with regards to skilling of youth.
Several clusters where Apprenticeship Programs can be offered were identified and discussed after taking inputs from the participating members.
The third workshop under the Skill Connect Road Show will take place on August 24 in Lucknow.
