‘Sale or return’ basis is an arrangement by which a retailer pays only for goods sold, returning those that are unsold to the wholesaler or manufacturer.
The garments will be marketed through NTC’s chain of retail stores and distribution channels
Currently NTC has 87 operational stores spread over various states. Over time, NTC intends to extend the operations to approximately 300 stores through franchisee
channels and also to set up its own pan-India distribution network.
The manufacturer will have to carry out product packaging design, visual-merchandising design, brand discipline audit, customer research and feedback.
Furthermore, the manufacturer is required to have a warehouse at every place where it has to supply NTC products under this arrangement, the company said in its bid document.
The hired agency will be also required to design and develop prototype of monthly garment collections across multi-category of apparel, including, textile, graphic, product, packaging, label and trim design.
It will also develop and build merchandise range architecture and product plan.
Moreover, the agency should carry our surveys, audit and analysis to maintain the quality of the garment.
The NTC will conduct a three-stage selection process which will be conducted by a selection committee comprising of at least 3 directors of NTC or their nominees.
NTC is a central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Textiles which manages the affairs of sick textile undertakings in the private sector, taken over by the Government. (KNN)
