Odisha Exports First Shipment of Dried Whole Egg Powder to Austria

New Delhi, Jun 22 (KNN)The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has facilitated the first commercial export of dried whole egg powder from Odisha to Austria.

The consignment, weighing 22.6 metric tonnes, was exported by Balangir-based OVO Farm Pvt. Ltd., an APEDA-registered exporter. The shipment marks the entry of Odisha-produced dried egg products into the European market.

To support production for export markets, the company established an egg-processing facility in Balangir in 2025. The unit manufactures dried egg products and is certified under food safety and quality standards, including FSSC 22000 Version 6, HALAL and KOSHER certifications.

Dried whole egg powder is used in food processing, bakery, confectionery and pharmaceutical industries due to its longer shelf life and ease of transportation.

APEDA said it supported the exporter through financial assistance programmes aimed at strengthening processing infrastructure, food safety systems and laboratory testing capabilities.

The authority noted that European countries, including Austria, import egg powder for food and industrial applications. 

The shipment is expected to support the expansion of value-added poultry product exports from India and encourage further investment in food processing in Odisha.
