New Delhi, Jul 9 (KNN) To help exporting companies comply with standards and regulations across major importing countries, thereby lowering export rejection, CII and IIFT are organising online master classes.

The series of eight online master classes on ‘Export – Internationalising Domestic Businesses’ are scheduled to be held from July-17 to December-18, an official release said.

“Increasing globalization and liberalization of the world economy has seen a rapid increase in the overall volumes of trade. But, the year 2009 witnessed one of the most severe global recessions in the post-war period. That implied us to take an initiative to diversify our export markets and reduce the inherent disadvantages of credit risks and higher trade costs etc., for our exporters in the emerging markets of Africa, Latin America, Oceania and CIS countries through appropriate policy instruments.

“New emerging markets have been given a special focus to enable competitive exports by deputing additional resources under the Market Development Assistance Scheme of the Government of India. Diversifying in these markets will require exporting companies to deal with standards and regulations across major importing countries. A proper understanding of these issues will lead to lowering down of export rejections in international markets,” the release said.

In addition to the above, Export and Import transactions require a lot of documentation. For an entrepreneur, to start an international business venture, it is necessary to have sound knowledge about the preliminary steps that are required to be taken for operating as an exporter or importer in the country.

With this backdrop in view and an objective to enlighten the audience with rich experience of the experts, Confederation of Indian Industry is organizing the online Master Classes on "Exports" in association with Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.

Scheduled to be held from 1530 to 1730 hours, the module Export Subsidies and Incentives for Exporters will be held on July 17; Export Subsidies and Incentives for Importers (August-21); Export Opportunities in Emerging Markets (September-18); Managing Global Compliance in Exports (October-16), Getting Started in Export Import -Step by Step (November-13); Understanding Incoterms: 2010 (November-27); Commercial Documentation for Foreign Trade - Preparation and Handling / Trade Documents to Customs / RBI / Central Excise (December-18).  (KNN/ES)
