Oscar Fernandes takes over charge of Labour Ministry

“The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has directed that Oscar Fernandes, Minister of Road Transport and Highways shall be given additional charge of the work of the Ministry of Labour and Employment,” said an official statement.
Ola died in the wee hours this morning at a Gurgaon hospital after a prolonged illness.
The senior Congress leader is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. Ola was awarded Padma Shri for social work in 1968. (KNN/SD)
