Bureau Of Indian Standards Conducts Training For Water Industry Quality Control Personnel
Chennai, Mar 31 (KNN) The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Madurai, recently concluded a two-day capsule course designed for Quality Control Personnel from packaged drinking water industries.
The training, held on March 28 and 29 at the District Industries Centre (DIC) in Thanjavur, drew 34 participants from Thanjavur, Ariyalur, Pudukottai, and Tiruvarur districts of Tamil Nadu.
The programme was inaugurated by S.D. Dayanand, Senior Director, BIS, Madurai, while V. Manivannan, general manager of DIC, delivered the keynote address.
Throughout the two-day event, participants received comprehensive training on Indian Standards, product manuals, test methods, and new BIS guidelines.
The sessions covered critical aspects of quality control in the packaged drinking water industry, including microbiological and chemical parameters.
Participants were also educated on BIS certification processes and the utilisation of the Manak Online portal, equipping them with essential knowledge to maintain industry standards.
