CGTMSE Hosts Global Symposium on Credit Guarantees in Mumbai

New Delhi, Apr 24 (KNN) The Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE)  hosted a Global Symposium on Credit Guarantees alongside the 38th Annual Conference of the Asian Credit Supplementation Institution Confederation in Mumbai as part of its Silver Jubilee celebrations.

The event brought together delegates from over 19 countries and 26 organisations, including policymakers, financial institutions, and credit guarantee agencies, highlighting the growing importance of international cooperation in strengthening credit guarantee frameworks.

The symposium was inaugurated by Manoj Mittal, Chairman of CGTMSE and CMD of Small Industries Development Bank of India, while Manish Sinha, CEO of CGTMSE, delivered the welcome address.

Delivering the keynote address, Rajneesh, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, emphasised the role of credit guarantee mechanisms in addressing financing challenges faced by enterprises lacking collateral and highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen the MSME ecosystem.

Panel discussions featured participation from Ishita Ganguli Tripathy and Anuja Bapat, focusing on financial inclusion, institutional strengthening, and risk management.

Deliberations covered global perspectives, cross-border cooperation, sustainability, and innovation in credit guarantee systems, with participants emphasising the need for resilient and future-ready frameworks to support inclusive access to finance.

The symposium highlighted India’s role in fostering global dialogue on credit guarantees, with CGTMSE reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the credit ecosystem and promoting inclusive entrepreneurship.
