Commerce Minister Launches BHAVYA Portal To Support Development of 100 Industrial Parks

New Delhi, Jun 9 (KNN) Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal launched the BHAVYA (Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana) portal to accelerate the  development 100 investment-ready industrial parks across the country.

The scheme, approved by the Union Cabinet with an outlay of Rs 33,660 crore, aims to create integrated industrial parks over six years with multimodal connectivity, utility infrastructure, digital governance systems and worker-support facilities.

Under the programme, states will submit project proposals outlining industrial strengths, land availability and sectoral potential, with projects selected through a competitive framework.

According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, industrial parks under BHAVYA will be developed in partnership with state governments through the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation, which has been designated as the project management agency.

Land will be provided by states, while infrastructure development will be supported through a 51:49 Centre-state partnership model.

The portal will function as a single digital platform for submission of detailed project reports, appraisal of proposals and real-time monitoring of implementation. It is also intended to facilitate transparent evaluation of proposals received from states, union territories and implementing agencies.

The ministry said the industrial parks will be designed based on sector-specific requirements and may include facilities such as assured water and power supply, road and rail connectivity, digital single-window clearances, testing infrastructure, worker housing and social amenities.

Dedicated spaces for startups, research and development activities, deep-tech enterprises and innovation-led businesses may also be incorporated.

Applications received between June 1 and July 31 will be considered for the first phase covering 20 industrial parks, while an additional 30 parks will be selected from proposals received by September 30.

Subsequent phases will be implemented based on the experience and outcomes of the initial rounds.
