EDII Hosts International Conference To Boost Tech In MSMEs

New Delhi, Jan 10 (KNN) The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) recently organised a two-day International Conference on integrating technology in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.

The event aimed to promote innovation and technological progress in the MSME domain. The conference, supported by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (IC Section), Government of India, was inaugurated with the presence of H.E. Mr. Chang Jae-Bok, Hon’ble Ambassador, Republic of South Korea, along with other esteemed guests.

During the conference, discussions revolved around the infusion of technology in the MSME sector, bringing together key stakeholders, experts, and policymakers. The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor: India Report 2022-23 was also released, offering valuable insights into the entrepreneurial landscape of the country.

Ambassador Chang highlighted the vital role of MSMEs in nurturing the Korea-India bilateral relationship and encouraged participants to strengthen cooperation.

Ms. Mercy Epao emphasised the shift towards innovation and global competitiveness in the MSME sector, encouraging entrepreneurs to seize opportunities. Mr. Khambatta stressed the importance of entrepreneurial proficiency for MSME growth, calling the conference a significant step in creating knowledge infrastructure.

Dr. Sunil Shukla expressed gratitude to the Ministry of MSME for supporting the initiative, emphasising the pivotal role of MSMEs in economic development. The conference saw the participation of more than 200 national and 74 international delegates from 75 institutions.

Technical sessions during the conference focused on key themes such as technology infusion and competitiveness in the MSME sector, digital transformation, policies and regulations, and skill development and technology adoption in MSMEs.

Eminent speakers, including Dr. Nimnual Piewthongngam, Amaya Ashani Palihawadana, Charles Amoako Atta, Dr. Jaimin Vasa, Vinod Agarwal, Dr. Bharti Motwani, and Dr. Satya Ranjan Acharya, delivered insights on these critical topics.
