FIEO claims exports contributed 40% additional GDP in 2022-23

New Delhi, Apr 6 (KNN) The Federation of Indian Export Organisations has welcomed the milestone achievement of USD 767 billion goods and services, amidst global headwinds during 2022-23.

Lauding the government’s efforts to achieve the export target, FIEO President, A Sakthivel said that the country is making huge progress in various areas under the visionary and able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ranging from social sectors to economy particularly exports.

He added that around 40 per cent of the additional GDP in 2022-23 was contributed by exports. “Such spectacular feat has been possible due to the enabling and supportive eco system created by all the concerned ministries and departments,” Sakthivel said.

FIEO president showed confidence in achieving the exports target of USD 2 trillion by 2030.

Sakthivel pointed out that the timely guidance and support from the Commerce & Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal, who constantly engaged with the trade and industry especially exporters and monitored their progress through frequent engagements, has helped the exporting community achieve this feat.

He reiterated that exports have now become a national priority, which has helped in providing further momentum to the sector.  (KNN Bureau)
