FSSAI To Hold Stakeholder Consultation On Key Food Safety Issues On August 7
New Delhi, Aug 4 (KNN) The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) will convene a stakeholder consultation meeting on August 7, 2026, to deliberate on several regulatory and compliance-related issues in the food sector.
The meeting, chaired by the FSSAI CEO, will be held at 3:00 PM at the 5th Floor, FDA Bhawan, New Delhi, with an option for virtual participation.
Key Discussions
The consultation will cover a range of issues affecting food business operators and industry stakeholders, including the revision of formats for displaying FSSAI licence and registration numbers, compliance with labelling provisions and warning declarations for health supplements and nutraceuticals—particularly those using plant parts and botanical extracts—and the use of food additives in the HoReCa (Hotels, Restaurants, and Cafés/Catering) sector.
It will also address testing protocols for packaged drinking water and mineral water, as well as regulatory considerations for analogue products in the dairy sector, especially paneer analogues.
Industry Participation
FSSAI has invited all concerned food industry associations to nominate up to two representatives each to participate in the consultation and provide inputs on the proposed issues.
