NHAI Receives Nine Bids For Jaipur–Kishangarh Six-Laning Project

New Delhi, Mar 17 (KNN) The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has received nine bids for the proposed six-laning of the Jaipur–Kishangarh section of NH-48 in Rajasthan.

The project spans nearly 90 km between Jaipur and Kishangarh and will be implemented under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode. It was approved in February 2026 and is expected to be awarded within this financial year.

The upgrade is designed to transform the corridor into a semi access-controlled highway, with provisions for flyovers and vehicular underpasses at key junctions, along with continuous service and slip roads. These measures are aimed at improving traffic flow, reducing bottlenecks and enhancing overall efficiency along the route.

Once completed, the project is expected to reduce travel time between Jaipur and Kishangarh from around two hours to nearly one hour. It is also likely to increase average vehicle speeds and expand the carrying capacity of the highway.

The addition of service roads will help segregate local and long-distance traffic, contributing to smoother operations and reduced congestion.

Safety enhancements form a key component of the project. The introduction of grade separators is expected to minimise conflict points at intersections, thereby lowering the risk of accidents.

Dedicated service lanes will also improve safety for pedestrians and local traffic by separating them from high-speed vehicles.

The project is planned without additional land acquisition, which may facilitate quicker execution. Overall, the development is expected to improve connectivity, support more efficient movement of goods and passengers, and contribute to economic activity in the region.
