ONDC successfully completes 4,000 transactions

New Delhi, Jan 16 (KNN) The government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) has successfully completed 4,000 transactions as part of the beta testing, according to a report in TNIE.

The platform has also on-boarded its first handloom weavers from Kancheepuram, to sell their products through ONDC across India with support from the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), a govt official told TNIE.

As per reports, the Open Network for Digital Commerce is collaborating with the Kerala government with the aim to to scale its pilot in open mobility across Kerala. “ONDC is also working with developmental organisations to on-board social sector organisations and farmers producers’ organisations (FPOs),” the official said.

The union government had launched the pilot phase of ONDC in April last year in five cities, those included Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Shillong and Coimbatore. The platform went live in September 2022, in grocery and F&B categories.

Through ONDC, small businesses will have multiple options to be discoverable over the network and conduct business on their own terms.

This discoverability will be universal to all buyers on the network irrespective of the application the buyer uses on the web.  (KNN Bureau)
