New Delhi, Jun 26 (KNN) Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries has officially stepped into the esports industry through a joint venture between its subsidiary Rise Worldwide and Denmark-based BLAST Esports.

The two firms announced their partnership on June 26, forming a new entity named Jio BLAST eSports.

Initially incorporated by RISE on April 18, 2025, as a wholly-owned unit, the company transitioned into a 50:50 joint venture after BLAST Esports invested Rs 5 crore by subscribing to 50 lakh equity shares worth Rs 10 each.

The joint venture aims to boost the Indian esports scene by combining BLAST’s global expertise in organising large-scale tournaments with Reliance’s technological infrastructure and massive digital reach in India.

These events will be hosted on the JioGames platform to provide immersive and competitive gaming experiences tailored for Indian audiences.

According to The Economic Times, Jio BLAST eSports will offer end-to-end support across the esports ecosystem. This includes publisher and sponsor collaboration, full tournament management, strategic marketing, and high-quality production and broadcasting.

The partnership does not fall under related party transactions, and no government or regulatory approvals were needed for the share allotment. BLAST Esports Limited is not affiliated with the promoter group of Reliance Industries.

With this venture, Reliance aims to tap into India’s rapidly growing gaming community and establish a sustainable, globally competitive esports environment.
