UIDAI Partners With Google To List Aadhaar Centres On Maps

New Delhi, Feb 27 (KNN) The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with Google to enable the display of authorised Aadhaar centres on Google Maps, a move aimed at improving public access to Aadhaar-related services across the country.

Under the initiative, residents will be able to locate verified Aadhaar centres and view detailed information about the services available at each location.

These include adult enrolment, child enrolment, and updates to address or mobile number.

Users will also be able to check operational details such as working hours, parking availability and accessibility features, including divyang-friendly infrastructure, where applicable.

The facility is expected to be rolled out in the coming months.

As per official statement, the collaboration is intended to streamline public access to more than 60,000 Aadhaar centres nationwide, including Aadhaar Seva Kendras (ASKs). It will also ensure that searches on Google Maps direct users to authorised and verified centres, thereby reducing the scope for misinformation.

UIDAI Chief Executive Officer Bhuvnesh Kumar stated that the initiative aligns with the authority’s focus on enhancing convenience for Aadhaar holders by making service centres easier to identify and access.

In a subsequent phase, UIDAI plans to utilise Google Business Profile tools to update centre information and respond to public feedback.

The partnership may also explore enabling direct appointment booking through the Google Maps interface to further improve user experience and service efficiency.

Google India representatives said the integration is designed to make access to trusted government services more straightforward and accessible for residents.
