New Delhi, Feb 1 (KNN) Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, during her Union Budget 2025 speech, unveiled a set of strategic initiatives focused on strengthening India's service sector.

To enhance India's service sector competitiveness, the government will introduce a national framework for Global Capability Centres (GCC), specifically targeting emerging tier 2 cities.

This comprehensive framework will encompass 16 distinct measures, ranging from talent development and infrastructure enhancement to building code reforms and industry collaboration mechanisms.

The final component of this economic package includes significant upgrades to air cargo infrastructure and warehousing facilities, with special attention to high-value perishable horticulture produce.

The initiative includes plans to modernise cargo screening procedures and streamline customs protocols, aiming to create a more efficient and user-friendly export ecosystem.
