Women Participation In Formal Workforce Could Double GDP
New Delhi, Jan 8 (KNN) Greater female participation in the formal workforce only contributes to GDP but also doubles the country's GDP as technology replaces their current tasks says Union Minister Piyush Goyal.
Addressing the inaugural session of the DMK government's Global Investors Meet 2024 on Sunday, the Union Minister highlighted India's demographic dividend, driven by its youthful population, which was admired globally.
Goyal also stressed that women-led development is crucial for India's progress and reiterated the government's commitment to making the nation corruption-free by 2047
“The world is eager to engage with India for free trade agreements (FTAs) and to enhance trade and diplomatic relations”, he added.
Additionally, he highlighted India's remarkable economic growth, transforming from the world's 5th weakest economy before 2014 to the 5th largest economy today, with strong macroeconomic fundamentals and a 7.7 per cent GDP growth in the last two quarters.
