Paradip Port Trust to adopt RFID card based entry pass system

The RFID (Radio frequency identification) card based system will be implemented among the pass issue sections to enhance security at all the port facilities.
Paradip Port Trust issues different types of entry permits (passes) to its users, contractors, contract workers, daily workers, commercial vehicles, intra-Port transport vehicles, non-commercial vehicles, Heavy Industrial earth movers like Pay loaders, Cranes, Excavators, etc through two numbers of Pass issue sections (One at Atharabanki Main Gate
(ATBK) and One at No.-4 Gate) under ISPS Cell headed by Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) on a Daily, Fortnight, Month, Annual basis as per specification of ISPS norms.
The project will require erection of high mast towers with concrete base, indoor and outdoor radio units, switches, etc for wireless communication.
Scope of work will include suitable modification of existing port infrastructures to accommodate the Gate Pass Management Solution by installing Servers, Computers, Printers, RFID reader/writers, Boom Barriers, LCD Monitors (42”) with the help of WLAN at each location, as per the requirements of Paradip Port Trust.
It will also require installation of various IT equipment such as Servers, personal computers, power back-up system (UPS), web-cameras, colour/BW printers, RFID readers/writers, LCD display units (42”), air-conditioning units, electrical lights, cabling and installation of software.
In this context, the Marine Department (ISPS cell) Paradip Port Trust has invited bids from the private sector to install and implement the system. (KNN/ES)
