Paschimanchal Vidyut to improve consumer supply of electricity

New Delhi, Jan 16 (KNN) The Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd today announced a definite plan to bring down the power transmission losses and improve quality of consumer supply in several towns with the help of modern tools and systems like SCADA.

The towns which will benefit include Bijnor, Chandpur, Dhampur, Kiratpur, Nagina, Najibabad, Nehtor, Noorpur, Seohara and Sherkot and also Moradabad and Saharanpur.

SCADA stands for supervisory control and data acquisition. It is an industrial control system where a computer system monitors and controls a process. It is an automated tool which can control, supervise, collect data, analyses data and generate reports on industrial activities.

In this regard, Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited seeks bids companies who can improve, strengthen and augment the distribution system to bring down losses and improve quality of consumer supply.

From July 2003 onwards Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited has inherited the responsibility for distribution of power in western Uttar Pradesh from UPPCL. PVVNL is committed to rapid improvements in efficiency of power distribution to achieve 24-hour availability of quality power for all consumers.     (KNN/ES)
