Passenger car exports from India grow by 26% in last three months

New Delhi, July 20 (KNN) In the month of April to June the exports of passenger car from India has increased to 1,60,263 units from 1,27,083 units in the corresponding quarter of 2021–22, as per a report.

The data was recently revealed by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

It has said that the second wave of Covid-19 in 2021 has caused difficulties in the auto industry in the most recent fiscal year.

Van exports fell from 588 units in the same period of the previous fiscal to 316 units in April–June.

Maruti Suzuki India led in exports, with Hyundai Motor India and Kia India coming in at the second and third spots, respectively during the time period.

Maruti exported 68,987 PVs, up 53% over the 45,056 units shipped during the same time in the prior fiscal year.

Latin America, ASEAN, Africa, the Middle East, and surrounding areas are some of the automaker's top PV export markets, and its top five export models include the Baleno, Dzire, Swift, S-Presso, and Brezza.

Kia India shipped 21,459 units to markets around the world as opposed to 12,448 units during the same period in the prior fiscal year.

In the June quarter, Nissan Motor India exported 11,419 vehicles compared to Volkswagen's 7,146.

Honda and Renault exported 6,533 and 6,658 vehicles, respectively.  (KNN Bureau)
