Pharma MSMEs in Himachal seek immediate relief measures from state govt
Shimla, Apr 20 (KNN) Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) engaged in pharmaceutical production in Himachal Pradesh (HP) have sought immediate relief/action plans from the state government.
Lauding the government’s efforts, in its letter, Himachal Drug Manufacturers Association (HDMA), President, Dr Rajesh Gupta said that government is trying its best to ensure that the industries involved in essential supplies continue their business operations to ensure uninterrupted supply of medicines and medical equipment.
But due to various factors, pharma companies in Himachal Pradesh are finding it a big challenge to continue operations.
''Hence, these issues need to be resolved immediately,” Gupta said.
He further informed that several problems like obstructions in material movement, low stock of essential consumables, briquettes, problems in surface transport service, non-availability of truck drivers and loaders, inter-state movement restrictions etc. As a result, they are finding it difficult to continue their business operations in the state.
“We are optimistic about the response from the government and most likely there will be some clarity on these issues by April 20,” Gupta added.
He said detection of Covid-19 cases in Jharmajri area of Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh belt has resulted in shutting down of of 45 pharmaceutical units. He said as Covid-19 pandemic is likely to persist for the next two-three months, a roadmap for up to September is required.
