PHDCCI holds seminar on Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana

New Delhi, May 11 (KNN) PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) in association with Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI) organized a one-day seminar on “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana”.

The seminar was organized to provide information on the key features of the "Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana" to the industry representatives, entrepreneurs and beneficiaries, self help groups etc, according to PHDCCI press release.

In his welcome address the Chairman of the Agriculture Committee, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, VK Singh explained the details about the efforts that being made by the chamber for making the necessary publicity for the implementation of the “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana.”

Mishra, said that the programs like Form to Fork and Agri Harti Tech are being held annually by the Chamber, where information related to technologies and buyers is disseminated to farmers.

“This scheme is a new and excellent version of all the schemes made by the Government for the farmer’s benefits”, he added.

 While addressing the seminar, Chief General Manager, NABARD, NP Mohapatra explained the efforts of various cooperatives and self help groups made in the field of food processing in the state.

Speaking at the conference, Mohapatra informed that in the Rajnandgaon district the production of Zimikand is being made in huge quantities, which has huge demands abroad.

Apart from that he mentioned two special species of rice which contains anti-cancer properties.

Sunil Mishra, Managing Director, CSIDC said that the government has approved the Prime Minister Farmer Asset Scheme (Agro-Marin Processing and Agriculture-processing Cluster Development Scheme) and its implementation will be done by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.

Further, it was that the Mega Food Park is being constructed by the state government for which big companies like Patanjali will set up project in the state.

Chief Guest of the Seminar  Ashok Kumar, Joint Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Food Processing Industries,  said that in the field of food processing in India, there is a possibility of a great increase in foreign investment from all over the world and large potentials are emerging in the areas of food production .

The "Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana" is a comprehensive package, which results in a range of activities ranging from farm to retail, he said.

Arvind Tiwari, Assistant Director from the MSME Development Institute, Government of India, explained in detail about the Government's grants schemes while Sona Sinha Sharma from QCI  (Quality Control of India) informed about the national and international standards of food items and processed products.

In the seminar, senior officials of the State Government, representatives of major industries, entrepreneurs and members of Self Help Groups and Chairman of Chhattisgarh Chapter of PHDCCI Veenu Jain were present during the conference.
