Jaipur, Jun 25 (KNN) The Rajasthan Government is working on a plan to develop new concepts of promoting tourism in the state, which is among the top destinations for foreign tourists in winters.

The State Tourism Departments wants to develop specialised tourism avenues like rural tourism, adventure tourism, cultural tourism, pilgrim, MICE, medical/wellness, destination and other emerging fields of travel trade.

It also wants to improve on horticulture, landscaping development; heritage conservation and restoration work at various monuments and tourist places.

Rajasthan tourism accounts for eight per cent of the state's domestic product. It is among the most the preferred destinations of many tourists around the world.

The tourism department will soon be appointing standalone consultants and architects to work at the various sites and for preparation of feasibility reports.

In this context, the government is inviting bids from experienced architects or project consultants in their capacities as individuals, firms and companies with previous experience in such work.

The broad scope of work for the consultants includes conducting a study of existing sites, properties, drawing up engineering plans, recording areas of distress or damages and photo documentation.

The selected agency will be responsible for various activities such as providing professional services for specific projects relating to tourism infrastructure planning and development at tourist destinations/circuits or in any other schemes requiring project monitoring, design and engineering and architectural expertise.  (KNN/ST)
