Plastic City at Auraiya dist in UP

Kanpur, Jan 16 (KNN) The UPSIDC is developing a Plastic City at Dibiyapur in Auraiya district for which the preliminary work has begun and the corporation is hiring consultants for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for facilities like common effluent treatment plant (CETP).

The UP State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) is also planning to set up a sewerage treatment plant for a housing sector in the industrial area of Bhogaon in the district of Mainpuri.

The upcoming Plastic city project at Dibiyapur, Auraiya, has elicited enormous interest from major plastic industrialists from all over the country, according to a press release from the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department.
 
The first such industrial initiative in plastic manufacturing sector in Uttar Pradesh, the plastic city is being developed by Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) in coordination with Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) with the estimated project cost of around Rs 250 crores.
 
Since this industrial project is being developed through an SPV on Public Private Partnership mode, UPSIDC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AIPMA. Besides, two MoUs have been signed with GAIL to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw material, in this case HDPE (High-density polyethylene) and LDPE/LLDPE (Low-density polyethylene/Linear LDPE).
 
The project is coming up in 314 acres of land, of which 225 acres will be developed for industrial units and remaining 89 acres will be utilised for residential purpose. Till now, UPSIDC has spent around Rs 20 crores for the development of roads, power distribution lines, sewage and water overhead tank.
 
Further, community and other facilities like warehouses, sewage treatment plant, shopping mall, school, health centre, residential township, road connectivity will be developed.
 
GAIL and CIPET will set up Skill development centres in the Plastic city. (KNN/ES)
