PM Modi launches home-grown 5G Test Bed
New Delhi, May 17 (KNN) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched India’s first 5G Test Bed and has called it an important step toward self-reliance in critical and modern technology in the telecom sector.
Addressing a programme marking the silver jubilee celebrations of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) virtually PM Modi also released a postal stamp to commemorate the occasion.
“India’s own 5G standard has been made in the form of 5Gi, it is a matter of great pride for the country. It will play a big role in bringing 5G technology to the villages of the country”, he said.
A positive change in the governance of the country will be brought by the 5G technology and said that it will promote ease of living and ease of doing business (EoDB).
This will boost growth in every sector like agriculture, health, education, infrastructure and logistics and increase convenience and create many employment opportunities, said PM.
He called for joint efforts from the government and industry for the rapid roll-out of 5G. (KNN Bureau)
