PM Modi to address Naval Innovation & Indigenisation Organisation Seminar 'Swavlamban' today

New Delhi, July 18 (KNN) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to address the Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation(NIIO) Seminar 'Swavlamban' today at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi.

The primary objective of the seminar is to engage Indian industry and academia towards achieving self-reliance in the Defence sector. The seminar will hold sessions on Innovation, Indigenisation, Armament and Aviation.

The two day Seminar will provide a united platform to all the stakeholders to ideate and come up with recommendations for the Defence Sector in order to make India self- reliant in defence.

At the event, Modi will also unveil the ‘SPRINT Challenge’ which is aimed at boosting the usage of indigenous technology in the Indian Navy.

SPRINT (Supporting Pole-Vaulting in R&D through iDEX, NIIO and TDAC) is a project undertaken by the Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation in association with the Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO) to induct 75 new indigenous technologies / products in the Indian Navy.

This seminar will help the country’s defence sector take another step in its quest for attaining self-reliance.  (KNN Bureau)
